British Webley Double Action Top Break .38 Cal Revolver with Vintage Holster
This is a recently acquired British Webley Double-Action Top Break Revolver in overall good condition for its era. It shows typical wear and patina with scattered peppering. This is a neat find that is sure to be a great addition to any collection.
After World War I, the British military recognized the need for a less powerful cartridge to reduce recoil and make training new recruits easier. This led to the adoption of the .38 S&W(38/200) cartridge in 1922. The Webley Mk IV in .38 S&W became the standard issue for British forces and police, replacing the larger .455 Webley Mk II.
