This is a recently acquired Colt M1911 A1 U.S. Army Service Pistol chambered in .45ACP. According to Colt records, it dates back to 1944. According to the previous owner, this pistol was given to his father by Brigadier General Guy H. Drewry, it was his personal weapon during WWII. It features a 5" barrel, polished blue finish with engraving, and comes with 2 extra magazines, a blood-stained magazine pouch, and a display case. Two Colt Letters are provided as well as some history on the Brigadier General. The M1911A1 was the standard-issue sidearm for the U.S. military throughout World War II. The Colt Letter states it was one of 2,000 in shipment order #4063 to The United States Government in Springfield, Massachusetts for "Commanding Officer" on September 25, 1944. This Colt M1911A1 U.S. Army Pistol represents a piece of American military history and will make a great addition to any collection.
