Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Revolver (Postwar) "Pre-Model 10"
This is a recently acquired Smith & Wesson Military & Police (Postwar) "Pre-Model 10" Revolver in great condition. It's built on the square butt K frame with 5 screws. A continuation of the previous model without the "V" serial prefix or the lanyard ring. This one features an "S" serial number prefix indicating it was produced between 1945 and 1947, as the "C" serial number prefix was introduced in 1948. It has a blue finish with color cased hammer and trigger, fixed sights, and checkered walnut grips with diamonds around the escutcheons and S&W medallions.
